Long shares win if Hell or High Water wins the 2017 Academy Award for Best Picture. About the Oscars The 89th Academy Awards (also known as The Oscars) ceremony, presented by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS), will honor the best films of 2016 and will take place on February 26, 2017, at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles, 5:30 p.m. PST (8:30 p.m. EST). During the ceremony, AMPAS will present Academy Awards (commonly referred to as Oscars) in 24 categories. About the Oscar for Best Picture The Academy Award for Best Picture is one of the Academy Awards of Merit presented to producers working in the film industry and is the only category in which every member is eligible to nominate for.
